The Book Beat hosts Desiree Cooper, editor of the anthology, Black Summers: Growing Up in the Urban Outdoors. Cooper and anthology contributors Cassandra Spratling and Angela Atabex Lugo-Thomas will share their summertime memories of Detroit, and how race continues to shape their experience of the outdoors.
